The Bouqs Co.
Role: Copywriter
Responsibilities: Email, web copy, blogging, customer service macros, executive bios, UX writing, product naming + descriptions, concepting
EMAIL MARKETING
As the sole writer at this company, I gained a lot of experience in a bunch of areas — and fast. One of my favorite areas of the business was working with our email marketing team to craft something engaging from the subject line to the CTA. In a way, each email feels like it’s own little campaign. Okay, I’ll stop now.
REGULAR PROMOTIONS
Monthly sends are consistent, but it can also be tough to keep things interesting. I’m pretty proud of the time and effort I put in to spice up the company’s regular emails—like this “Bouq of the Month” promotion—which gave me the chance to explore the product’s personality to build effective messaging.
SEO + WEB COPY
If you’re talking about it, someone’s looking for it. While working at The Bouqs Company, I worked with our SEO lead on a large sitewide initiative to improve our organic search rankings. We reimagined our category pages and incorporated keywords based on research in order to widen our reach while staying true to our brand voice.
PRODUCT NAMING + DESCRIPTIONS
If you’re going to write about the products, why not help name them, too? When I came on board at The Bouqs Company, one of their main goals was to give structure to our product and collection naming. For each new season of bouquets, I devised thematic product names and supporting product copy to bring each new item to life.
